01 Jan Tremendous interest in Solarus demonstrates worldwide need for solar energy
VENLO/ROTTERDAM – January 1 2017 – On the first day of a brand new year, Solarus can look back at a very successful crowdfunding campaign facilitated by Symbid. In less than one month the company collected the incredible amount of EUR 794.200,-. Considering the fact that Solarus initially set a target of €250.000, the final amount more than tripled. The response of the general public exceeded all expectations and even more than 500 ambassadors from across the world decided to show their confidence by investing in the company. This crowdfunding in shares has been the most successful one ever and clearly indicates that all over the world we finally realize that a shift from fossil to sustainable energy is needed to fight energy poverty and reduce CO2 emissions. And that is exactly the promise Solarus makes.
Thanks to all over new investors, Solarus is now able to scale up the production of its PowerCollectorTM, a solar solution providing four times more energy from the sun than conventional PV-systems of the same size, delivering both heat and electricity. As a result of its mass production, together with a fast growing international network of distribution and assembly partners, Solarus will be able to create impact: one roof at a time with the aim for 400.000 PowerCollectorsTM over the next three years.
With the crowdfunding in shares, Solarus collected EUR 794.200,- . This amount represents a 5,21% in shares in Solarus Sunpower Holding bv and enables the company to further boost its activities for the upcoming year with a projected revenue for 2017 of EUR 15 million. For 2018 the company is projecting revenues exceeding EUR 70 million. The crowdfunding campaign was part of a financing round of EUR 6 million. Already EUR 4 million is committed by two professional early stage investors and another EUR 440.000 is invested by senior management and existing shareholders.
