Solarus PowerCollector wins award at Erasmus Energy Forum

Solarus PowerCollector wins award at Erasmus Energy Forum

Rotterdam – June 2017 – During the Erasmus Energy Forum 2017 Solarus won the Stedin Erasmus Energy Business Award. The jury, which included energy experts from some of the world’s most innovative companies, recognizes inspiring and creative ideas for energy transition. They concluded Solarus’ hybrid concept as the most innovative with its high efficiency. The Energy Award is an initiative of Erasmus University to recognize, reward and celebrate new ideas and research in the field of future energy solutions. Solarus was one of the three finalists who displayed their concepts at the Erasmus Energy Expo at the Forum. The other finalists were Stored Energy and Pear.ai.

On 29 June, Francesco Mazza, Sales Engineer at Solarus, presented the PowerCollector with an one minute pitch to the Energy Forum’s international and influential audience. Mazza convinced the jury and afterwards he had the opportunity to provide the audience with some more company information. Mazza: “Already 3.000 PowerCollectors installed all over the world provide hot water and power for hotels, process industry and residentials, Systems have an efficiency of 70 percent at peak power, of which 20 percent is delivered in energy and 50 percent in heat. Being a B-Corp organization, Solarus is always looking for ways to make environmental impact. Working with strong local partners and opening local assembly lines is part of this business approach”.

The jury was not only impressed by the product, but also by the total business concept of the company. They concluded that the PowerCollector installations may have a significant effect, not least for people with no access to grid energy. And, moreover, the systems facilitate the reduction of local air pollution and creates local employment, while delivering heat and power from solar energy adds to sustainability.
